Glenbrook Ravine 5-Year Celebration!
At the end of 2021, the Glenbrook Ravine Restoration Project celebrated a milestone!
Over the past 5 years, we have been amazed at the dedication residents, friends and family have shown in enhancing what is often described as one of the hidden gems of the New Westminster community.
Since 2016, over $26,000 has been raised, 25 work parties have been held, and nearly 600 volunteers have gotten their hands dirty. Together, we planted over 1,300 shrubs and trees (18 species in total) and restored over 2,600 m2 that was previously infested with Himalayan blackberry.
Check out the infographic summary card with statistics on the last 5 years of this project.
Thank you to the New Westminster Environmental Partners, the City of New Westminster, sponsors, and the dedicated individuals who have supported this project. The momentum from the last 5 years will continue, as restoration work is already planned for 2022. Watch for upcoming work parties on our events page.
