ARMS Invasive Plant Removal Workshops
March 27, 2023
On March 26, we were pleased to work with the Alouette River Management Society to offer an invasive plant workshop and community event at Reg Franklin Park in Maple Ridge. This was ISCMV's first stewardship event of the year!
Volunteers removed invasive ivy growing up cottonwood trees and on the ground. They also removed some Himalayan blackberry and English holly. This event is part of a long-term multi-year project to steward Morse Creek which runs into the Alouette River.
Partnering together to run activities like this allows organizations to support each other's growth, learn from each other and connect community members, increasing our overall impact.
Thank you to all the volunteers who made these events such a success! If you are interested in volunteering with ARMS in the future, you can fill out their application form.
