Join ISCMV, the City of New Westminster, and the New Westminster Environmental Partners for a stewardship event at Glenbrook Ravine!

Fall is here, and it's time to head back into the ravine after our summer break on Saturday, September 12! We're also taking this opportunity to celebrate nine years of volunteer effort at our second annual Glenbrook Ravine Eco-Fest. Expect eco-art, nature-based games, music, refreshments, and more. The weed pull kicks off at 10 am, with Eco-Fest festivities following at 10:30 am. 

Registration

Interested individuals can sign up to participate by filling out this form.

Please bring:

  • Filled water bottles (1 or 2)
  • Work gloves (if you have them; if not, we’ll have some to loan)
  • Tools, especially pruners and trowels (if you have them; if not, we’ll have tools available) 
  • Proper footwear (with ankle support and closed toes) - and waterproof ones will make it more enjoyable
  • Proper clothing (rain or shine!) – a waterproof jacket and rain pants if you have them.

We’ll bring light snacks and refreshments for everyone!

Is the site accessible? We’ll be working on a slope with some steep sections. If you have mobility concerns, please let us know, and we’ll find a flatter area for you to work in. We want to welcome everyone who’s interested in attending this community event.

How do I get to the site? If you’re unsure where to go, take a look at the directions below. Our registration table is marked with a star. 

Is there parking?  Please note that the parking lot at the bottom of the ravine off of Jamieson Court is reserved for the church, so please park on the street if possible.  There is street parking available on Glenbrook drive at the upper entrance to the ravine.  The təməsew̓txʷ community centre is a short walk from the upper entrance to the ravine and has ample parking.

Is there a washroom? There are no washroom facilities at the site.  The washrooms at the community centre are the closest public washrooms.

Liability Waivers  

A waiver will be required for everyone to sign and will be valid throughout 2025. Anyone under the age of 18 will need permission from a parent/guardian (second page of waiver). To speed up the check-in process, you can download, print and complete this waiver ahead of time and bring it with you (first page for adults, second page for minors). Waivers will also be available at the registration table. Minors not accompanied by a parent/guardian will have to submit a signed waiver ahead of time or bring it with them. Waivers will also be available to sign at the event. Your waiver is good for the year.
