Workshop Description:

In this workshop, participants will be introduced to low tech means of paper making and printmaking. We will learn how to craft sheets of recycled paper using invasive plant species such as Ivy, Reed Canary Grass, Creeping Buttercup, and Tansy. Utilizing this paper, we will then be producing Holiday Greeting Cards in conjunction with a plant monoprinting process, exploring multiple ways of working and collaborating with invasive plants from an arts perspective.

We will be discussing the histories and stories of these plants in relation to the lands of Vancouver and the larger Lower Mainland, collaborating with these localized ecologies to bring new life into these often overlooked plants.
