More Details:
At this session, Still Moon Arts goal is to prepare a new meadow site at the corner of Cornett Road and Natal Street. They will be removing invasive species and garbage, as well as overturning any sod or grass to make way for a beautiful mix of native plants. Volunteers will also have a chance to take out blackberry along the streamside of Still Creek.
Still Creek along Cornett Road is a particularly special restoration site for Still Moon. This is the farthest west that chum salmon have returned to spawn in Still Creek, making it a key location for ecological renewal. Still Moon Arts is excited to complete their restoration goals here in 2025! Their vision includes removing the remaining invasive species, replanting with native vegetation, and establishing a vibrant meadow space. They see this portion of Still Creek as a welcoming gathering place to celebrate the return of salmon, native plants, and other biodiversity.
