Park Stewardship in Everett Crowley Park - May 25, 2024

Get dirty, have fun and help the environment! Join the Everett Crowley Park Committee (ECPC) for a stewardship event in the park. Volunteers will be helping to remove invasive plants and restore the local habitat. Participants can also learn more about the unique history and ecology of Everett Crowley Park. Gloves and tools will be provided.
Meeting Location
Meet at the front entrance to the Champlain Heights Community Centre (3350 Maquinna Dr) at 10am.
Event Info
A representative from ECPC will meet volunteers at the Champlain Heights Community Centre. Volunteers wil then be guided to the stewardship site in Everett Crowley Park. During the event, volunteers will be working on cutting and removing Himalayan blackberry and other invasives plants to prepare the site for native plantings in the fall. The whole event will take place outdoors rain or shine, so volunteers are asked to dress in weather-appropriate clothing and be prepared to get dirty! Wear supportive shoes like hiking boots and bring water & a light snack if you get hungry while doing physical work. The nearest public bathroom is available at the park entrance.
